New Futures Becomes Omni's First ReachOut Recipient
OmniStudio is pleased to announce that its 2008 ReachOut recipient is New Futures, a Washington, DC nonprofit that provides post-secondary scholarships to at-risk, low-income youth and young adults.
The ReachOut Project will provide New Futures with the strategic communication tools it needs to heighten its visibility and widen its outreach.
"Through the ReachOut Project, we're able to work with a young and growing local organization that can really benefit from our expertise," says Eileen Kessler, owner and CEO of OmniStudio. "New Futures is making such a wonderful contribution to the Washington community, and I'm thrilled that OmniStudio is getting the chance to advance their mission to break the cycle of poverty through education."
New Futures has already helped more than 135 disadvantaged young people attend college or professional or trade schools. With help from OmniStudio, New Futures will be able to increase its capacity to serve students and the community.
"So much of our fundraising goes directly to scholarships that we haven't devoted the resources we need to our own communications efforts," says New Futures President Michael Gould. "With OmniStudio's help, we're looking forward to recharging our outreach tools to connect with more donors and to serve more students who need financial help to reach their academic potential."
As a Washington-based business with a largely nonprofit client base, OmniStudio has always been committed to serving the community. The ReachOut Project continues this tradition of service.
Nearly two dozen local groups were nominated for the 2008 ReachOut Project. Eligible nominees had to be nonprofits serving the Washington region with less than $1 million in gross annual revenues.
After reviewing the nominations, Omni selected New Futures based on its past successes, prospects for growth and its starting point in developing a communication plan. "The selection process was a difficult one," says Kessler. "There is amazing work being done in our community, and each of the nominees is a testament to how a dedicated staff and committed volunteers are changing lives every day." |
